Advertising Information

The Twin Cities Daily Planet offers great original stories and commentary, interactive opportunities for readers, and a convenient portal to more than 40 neighborhood and community media partners. We currently average more than 65,000 visits, and more than 120,000 page views per month.

The Daily Planet’s wide range of news sources and original content attracts some of the most diverse, engaged and active residents of the Twin Cities—join us as an advertiser!

You can advertise on the Daily Planet for as little as $50 a week. For that rate, we will guarantee you a minimum of 2500 page views in one of our premium ad locations. That works out to a cost of 2 cents per page view, ($20/CPM) – a very competitive rate.

Actual cost per reader may be a lot lower. Ads run in rotation, so actual cost per reader depends on how many ads are sharing the space. Currently, only three or four ads run in each of our premium spaces, so effective cost per page view works out to less than one cent per reader – and will never be more than two cents. (For more exposure, buy more than one “share.”)

Ads may be submitted in .jpg or .gif format. We can design your ad for a nominal fee. For more information, contact jeremy@tcmediaalliance.org or 612-436-9186.

Things People Say

Readers sound off on disco, the Unabomber, and Santa Christ

“If there was any deep division in the music scene in 1977, it wasn’t people scratching their heads at less than stellar releases from Kansas, Foreigner, Styx, or Steely Dan and Neil Young, it was the demise of live music as disco came to prominence. I could make the argument that Kansas, Nugent and other arena acts GAINED fans because people who hated disco REALLY hated disco (myself included).”
-comment on “Sucking in ’77”

“John Jansen’s comments made me think of some of the bad things white people have done. Timothy McVeigh! Terry Nichols! The Unabomber! Not to mention almost all the serial killers in the U.S.! And all those Arab terrorists — they’re Caucasian! I just don’t think we can afford to have white people running this country. They are way too dangerous.”
-comment on “The Battle for Pine County”

“I really used to be amazed how these individuals could be so blatant about who they really are, and yet have their assemblies still pour money into their pockets so they can live like movie stars…and then you have those who are of the new faith: CASHIANS and followers of Santa Christ.”
