Lake Hiawatha Neighborhood Festival

Event Description: 

Great news for basketball enthusiasts – the Minnesota Timberwolves will be hosting a basketball shooting contest (Wolves Shootout) during the festival on the basketball court. There are three age groups for the contest. The winner of each age bracket with the highest score wins a Timberwolves prize pack. If there is a tie, a winner will be drawn randomly between the players with the tie. Anyone will also have the chance to be entered into the Timberwolves Summer Sweepstakes in which there will be a drawing to win a pair of season tickets for the 2008-2009 season. We will also have pony rides, hair painting, face painting, talent contest (pre-register at lhfest@yahoo.com), family fitness challenge (pre-register at lhfest@yahoo.com), pre-schooler sandcastle contest, kids games, and inflatable moonwalk. Food will be sold by food vendors - one of the vendors will be serving Mexican food. We also have vendors for mini-donuts, snow cones and a BBQ vendor. Abortion: I believe taking away a woman’s right to abortion is taking away her freedom. There are diverse reasons why abortion is the best option. There may be rape; few people want a reminder of a traumatic event. There may also be financial issues; many women just can’t afford children. Additionally, women with weak emotional states frequently turn to alcohol and drugs and this dependency leads to abuse and/or neglect of her kids … If a woman makes this call, or wants the option to make this call, why do people pass judgment?
